Join Murphy High School students to protest Linda McMahon visit
Representatives of the Trump regime should be met with resistance.
Donald Trump has pledged to dismantle the Department of Education, but first he is sending the agency’s Secretary Linda McMahon on a propaganda tour.
McMahon will be at Murphy High School on Friday, Feb. 6 at 8:00 a.m. to launch a nationwide “History Rocks!” tour in connection with the America 250 Civics Education Coalition.
McMahon said about the initiative (apparently without irony), “A country cannot survive if its values are forgotten by its people.”
This from a member of an administration that has unleashed a violent secret police in American cities, is arresting journalists and seeking to take control of elections, not to mention scrubbing actual American history wherever it has found it.
And while genuine civics education is a thing devoutly to be wished, the partners for this coalition include Eagle Forum (founded by Phyllis Schlafly), Moms for Liberty, and the Heritage Foundation, among many other ultraconservative groups.
Murphy students are organizing a rally, and reached out to Indivisible Mobile to ask for our support. (More and more we are seeing the young people take charge!) The student leader who contacted us, said,
“This visit could very well make national news, and I think it’s incredibly important to show that just because we are a famously red state does not mean that we will comply with the regime taking over our country. The support of the community would be incredibly inspirational and motivational for students and teachers alike. I’m begging for your help with this emergency protest to encourage students to speak our minds, and to make noise for the teachers who cannot without serious threat to their jobs.”
They have asked that protest signs support teachers and free (in all senses of the word) education as well as signs opposing ICE and other un-Constitutional actions by the administration.

Probably until about 9:00. If people need to leave earlier, that's fine!
Let’s Go!!
